Merry Christmas!

Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Christ. The Father sent the Son to the world as a baby. Jesus, the Word who is God took on the flesh of man and was born in a stable, yet He lost none of His divinity and remained God. This is a great and beautiful mystery. That God came to earth a little infant, dwelt among us as He grew, faced the troubles of this world selflessly- even to His death... just think about it! We worship an awesome God.

Father, we are filled with the new light by the coming of your Word among us. May the light of faith shine in our words and actions. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Thanks for your comments and encouragement. :) Finding a picture to go along with the post is almost as enjoyable as writing the posts themselves! There's some really beautiful stuff out there. I love especially depictions of the Christ Child and a lot of Murillo's work. The problem is, it's so hard to choose one!
